Paul’s fall tennis season has just started, and he played amazing this past saturday. He’s playing doubles with his usual teammate Cahn. They had a slow start to the first set, but they took the next two! It was a real nail bitter during the last two sets because both sides kept hitting shots that looked like the other side would never be able to return. You wanted to yell and gasp at the same time! Paul’s rather intimidating to other teams because he is so tall. It’s funny to hear the peanut gallery talk about how they’re glad they aren’t up against him. Paul has also been known to hit people during his serve or especially when he goes for a winning shot! I think that most of his teammates have all been hit alteast once, and some of them have been hit a few times more! I can tell you that even though I know I’m not going to get hit where I’m sitting I’m still scared for everyone else because it’s coming at them so fast and hard! Paul started playing more aggressive after the first set, and you could tell that it really surprised the other team! Lilly was even cheering on her daddy from the sidelines! She was using her outside voice during the right times! It’s cute, and when she finally understands when to yell I know that Paul might have a little trouble concentrating because he’ll be too busy smiling at his little cheerleader!!!!!
I love watching Paul play tennis, especially when he’s aggressive. It’s good to know that he can put fear in his opponent, because Paul has been so “nice” playing most sports. Tell Paul that we’ll be there Saturday and we expect some aggression! We’ll explain to Lilly that it’s OK for her daddy to have his “outside” playtime vs his “inside” playtime.
I know first-hand what it’s like to get hit by one of Paul’s tennis shots! (I’ll be kind and not mention the fact that I was in the third row of the bleachers at the time.)
Paul beat me in tennis the other weekend that you were here. That makes four – maybe five – years since I last beat him. But tell him not to get too cocky. I’ve got his number and am just biding my time. In the meantime, he had better get all the practice he can. Tammy & I will be there to see (scout) his next match this weekend.
You touched on a good idea. I’ll make sure Lilly is cheerleading when we play next. Paul won’t be able to resist her smiles and giggles and won’t be able to pay attention to the game – except that I would be just as distracted by her. Can’t wait to see you, Paul and Lilly this weekend.
Hey, it just shows some skill that I can hit you even when you’re off the court three rows up in the bleachers. That’s a hard shot!
It either shows you have a lot of skill to get it to Tom like that because you slammed it so hard, or it shows that you have a lack of skill because you couldn’t hit it in the court in the first place! 🙂 I’ll do my best to make sure Paul is distracted when he plays Tom next! It’s about time for him to win one!!!!
I think the old man is confused… he still thinks yellow is the enemy which is why he cannot hit the ball where he wants to his mind is too busy saying “must defeat yellow, must defeat yellow”. Old man and Laura all I have to say is Paul and I want our Risk rematch sometime in the near future. I cannot let your whooping of me stand, and do not worry Paul I will take no prisoners this time. But defiantly take some pictures, I would love to see some tennis shots as well as what the daughter is going to be wearing in support of her dad, errr wearing as distraction I guess lol.
Lilly doesn’t have to wear anything in particular to distract us because she is the cutest baby in the world! Normally the distraction starts when she starts to cheer daddy on! She’s getting a sweet little voice until she trys to exercise her lungs! You tend to laugh at most screams until it turns into fussing!
