She’s 15 months!

lilly-010.jpgSo, Lilly went to the doctor today. Thank goodness she only had to have one shot because I don’t think my nerves would have handled many more! She took it like a champ with some moderate tears, but everything was made better when we went to go get ice cream. She’s really growing well, and she’s 33 inches long putting her in the 98th percentile in height for her age. She also gained some weight making her almost 23 pounds. We still get the same response of she’s just going to be a long lean baby. I did get a little excited with the weight gain because she’s at the highest percentile she’s ever been which is 48th for weight. Unfortunately or fortunately Lilly has a big head. She shot up from around the 70’s to 96th percentile! I’m hoping it means she’s expanding for more room to learn some words! Lilly also has two molars coming in right now. We finally have an explanation for the loss of appetite and cranky moods lately. It’s hard to check for new teeth because she’s likely to bite your fingers off for sticking them in her mouth! She’s really become quite the daddy’s girl. Paul comes home from work, and she’s all over him! She just loves any game they play, and when he comes home I’m invisible for about the first hour. She’s comprehending more of what we tell her, and she’s willing to follow most of what we tell her half of the time! She loves to play outside with the chalk, and she manages to sneak a little in so she can write on the walls or floor. She got these cute markers for her birthday, and she likes to make a mess with them. Through trial and error I figured out the best place to do this is in her highchair. She’s contained to one spot instead of me chasing her down because she’s drawing on the walls!!! I never thought I would say this, but she’s become even more vocal with her shrieks and shrills! Most of the time she can make my ears ring after she starts screaming. As long as she only does this at home I’m fine with it. I only see this becoming a problem when we are out to eat! She really is growing like a weed, and it’s so much fun to see what new little things she learns every day. I’m sure we’ll be writing soon with some new task she’s figured out!
