Lilly Update!

thanksgiving-2008-252

Lilly is a wonderful little girl. It’s just one of the best things to be a part of, and I can’t believe how she grows before our eyes. She’s got 4 new teeth coming in all at the same time. Yes, I feel kinda crazy most days because when she gets unhappy it lasts!!! You can’t blame her for it because I know I would be miserable too. She’s eating like a big girl with her Lilly sized utensil and plates. It’s nice that she’s eating similar to what we eat. She LOVES pizza. What kid doesn’t?! It’s a special treat when she gets it, and she acts like a little princess when we give it to her. She’s still growing like a weed. I’m afraid that she’s taken more after Paul in the aspect than me. Her legs are long and waist is thin! I was more of a chunkier baby with much shorter legs. Not much has changed!!!! We’ve reached a huge milestone – potty training!!! We’ve been trying it out for the past week or more, and had no luck. Something changed, and Lilly is a big girl now! I just have to figure out a schedule to keep this up, and I know that we can be nearly done with diapers!!! She gets a special treat for it too! Grandma made fudge, and yes – Lilly gets to have one or two pieces as a reward! She’s also talking much more. It’s almost like a little light when off in her head, and she’s trying to talk to us. She knows no very well. I call her the Kitty Police because when the cats start acting up she runs after them yelling ” NO NO NO!”. Also, Paul and Lilly have their own special play time when he comes home. He takes her in our room to play on the bed so she can be tossed around and jump on the bed. When he gets to tickling her, she tells him ” No DaDa, No”. Lilly sleeps in a big girl bed. We conveted her crib to a day bed, and she has a safety rail that keeps her from falling out of bed. We’ve found that if we can keep her up to around 9pm or so, she sleeps the entire night in her bed. We really like those nights. Sometimes we can end up with her as early as 1am, and Paul and I normally wake up feeling like we’ve been beat in our sleep! She’s not exactly the sweetest little bed monster. When we have those good nights, she runs in our room around 7 am to snuggle with us. That is what we love! She really is a sweet little girl, and we feel  pretty lucky to have our little monster!

Update:

Lilly really loves grandma’s fudge.  Lilly stole mommy’s fudge when I asked her to look at something on the computer.  A few minutes later Laura noticed Lilly wasn’t making much noise so we knew she was up to no good.  We walked into the living room to find her like you see in the picture.  This is one of those stereotypical “I didn’t eat it” moments brought to you by Lilly!
