Guess What!

Lilly has been growing like a weed! It’s just amazing to see the difference in her in a few short months – can you believe she’s almost 17 months!!!!! She has started babbling all the time now, and she comes very close to the words we say. She’s become a little parrot! She started saying “Grandpa” after Grandma was calling him this weekend. She said it plain as day a couple times in a row! When Paul and I ask her to say Grandpa now, it comes out as “Papa”. So, we shall see what she ends up calling him! I’ve told her now she needs to say “Grandma” because then she can tell them when she wants to see them! As long as everything stays on track, Lilly gets to have a whole weekend to herself with them. I’m really working on the “Grandma” calling because right now she runs through the house screaming “Dada”, and he won’t be there to chase her around! I get “Mama” when she wants something, and I guess that will never change! Her volume has also increased along with her vocabulary! Lilly runs around the house or stands on the couch yelling at the top of her lungs – nothing but screaming for the purpose of hearing her own voice! It makes the whole house echo, and I think that she likes it that way. Paul and I are going to be deaf if she keeps this up!!! Lilly also has mastered walking backwards. Why she does this only she knows, but you can turn around to see her walking around going backwards. Unfortunately for her, she’s even more careless when she does this, and she trips or runs onto so many things. Most of the time she steps on toys, but there are occasional times where she will walk into the wall. A shriek of frustration normally follows like the wall jumped out at her! One very sweet thing Lilly does is kisses. Her mouth stays shut for the most part, but that doesn’t mean she’s not covered in drool! You can ask her for a kiss, and most of the time she will give you one. She’ll either shake her head no or run away when you ask her for one when she doesn’t want to play that game. The best times are when we’re watching a movie as a family on the couch, and she goes back and forth between Paul and me kissing us! Then she falls over laughing when she’s finished!!! She knows she’s cute! She also got the first little trim of her hair. I wanted to even up the back so she looked a little more groomed. Now if we can just get the front part of her hair to grow in more so she can tuck it behind her ear! That’s normally the first area covered in what ever she’s eating if I don’t get it clipped back in time.  Lilly also likes to dance. She’s gained a few more moves, and it just cracks us up when she starts to dance. Before it was just swaying back and forth. Now she sort of walks around bopping her head to the beat and flinging her arms around! It’s either that or she stands in one place kicking her feet or stomping while moving her entire body in spasms! Life is so much fun with her, and it seems to be getting better and better the older she gets!
