Total Eclipse of 8/21/2017

We were lucky enough to witness a Total Solar Eclipse at 3:36pm on August 21, 2017 in Helen, Georgia.  We decided to travel a bit north to be in the path of totality and I’m glad we did.  Talking to folks at home, there wasn’t a drastic change even though they witnessed a 90% eclipse.  In the path of totality, we were able to take off the glasses and see the ring of light around the moon.  It was impressive.  It wasn’t quite pitch black, but close.  All the street lights turned on and you could see the stars in the sky.  The good news is if you missed this one, there will be more to witness.  The bad news.  They only occur every 18 months or so and we won’t see another one in the US until 2024.
