Pre-K graduation and Advancement into the 3 Year Old Class

I’ll start with Lilly. Lilly has been going to Grace Academy since the beginning when she was 2 years old turning 3, and now she’s 5 years old ready for Kindergarten. I (Laura) have had a hard time coming to grasps that my first born and forever baby will be this independent little lady next year! Thank goodness I have a summer to mentally prepare for this event. I really try hard not to be so emotional in public, and I knew I would struggle with today. As Lilly entered the  graduation with her little cap and gown on, I kept telling myself to not cry. I’m not sad that she’s turning into this beautiful young lady, I’m sad that time keeps racing by with no regard to my personal feelings! I understand she needs to grow up because we’d love for her to continue to grow and be independent and successful, but does it really have to happen so fast?! Well, we made it through the graduation ceremony with no tears and a few laughs at their adorable performances of songs they had been learning this year, and then the school made the cutest slide show of pictures they took throughout the year. Enter tears here! It got to the end, and Lilly along with her best bud were the original two who have gone through preschool from the school’s very beginnings. They showed a picture of them as 2/3 year olds in their first class to now 5 year olds ready to move on to “big girl” school! I couldn’t help it- I started to cry. Looking over at Madeline’s (Lilly’s best bud) mom, she was crying too! So now we have two crying moms which is never good! Thank goodness we can pull it back together quickly! It’s amazing to see how much she’s grown, and she is all ready for Kindergarten!!!

Katie in all her shyness actually got up there and participated in the performance! I was so happy to see her going through the motions with the rest of the class because we all know it’s her way or the highway! She is moving on to 3 days a week now with her friends, and hopefully this next year her speech will get more developed so Pre-K we can go! Katie really got to know and love the teachers at Grace Academy, and I know next year is going to be super fun for her!

We love both of our girls so much, and we are so proud to be their parents! They are maturing into such great little ladies!!!!
