Lilly started preschool this January at a church in our area. She goes 2 days a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. She’s done so well with it, and her vocabulary is really taking off! The first day was more rough for me than for her. I sat in the parking lot for a little while just knowing that they would call me because she was having a fit. That phone call never came, and I was able to run to school to pick up the books I needed for my new semester with Katie. It was very odd being without her! I got a wonderful note from her teacher letting me know how wonderful Lilly was to have in her class and what a great day she had that first day! I love getting her folder from the teacher to see what they’ve been up to. Lilly brought home the cutest penguin made out of an oreo cookie. I like that they sent that home instead of loading her up full of sugar before they send her home. I would never get her down for a nap! She gets to have her first Valentine’s party, and I’m looking forward to decorating cards for her class with her! My new goal is to try to scan in some of her artwork so everyone can see! Fingers crossed!

Lilly really seems to like school and especially Miss Candy. She gets really excited every morning to go to school and see her friends and Miss Candy. We don’t live near a lot of kids, so we thought this would be a good experience for her to get more interaction with kids her own age. I don’t know if it’s the school or more time with the Clarks or she’s just getting older, but Laura is right about her vocabulary. It’s easier and easier to understand her and she says stuff sometimes that we’ve never taught her.
Dispite what the pictures we put up tell, Lilly is not always covered in food. Sometimes she’s sleeping.
I just wanted to share a quick funny about Lilly. She’s at that phase where she’s using a lot of words, but not always the right way. Well, this is one of her recent funnier sayings. It usually starts with her whispering to you “pssssst…. come here” and when you walk over to her she says “Daddy… let me tell you a question”. It’s usually just jibber-jabber, but it’s too cute not to indulge.
