The picture to the right is our front yard as of only a few weeks ago. The picture doesn’t do the severity of the slope justice. You have to have the agility of a mountain goat (like me) to avoid slipping and falling on your rear from walking across the yard. We decided that terracing the steep parts of the front yard would be a good idea and make the yard more manageable to maintain, not to mention save me some toes for when I inevitably would slide down the slope with the lawnmower. When I wake up from the self-induced black-outs from thinking about all the time, work, and money involved in building this mini Great Wall I think it will look good, but there is a long way to go yet.
