If either of the kids keep up their current rate of growth, they might be taller than me by eight years old! Katie is just shy of 32 inches tall, and she weighs 23 pounds. It’s funny to compare the girls’ weights because they both maintained the 50 percentile in that for a while. She has a pretty good sized head measuring at about 18-1/2 inches . Unfortunately, Katie has had a hard time teething. She got an ear infection with a perforated ear drum that the doctor believes is linked to teething. Paul and I keep hoping that she doesn’t have to suffer through the painful ear aches like we did as kids. She handled it really well, and now we’re waiting on all those teeth to break through her gums. The doctor let us know that Katie was waiting on 6 teeth to pop through all at the same time. I have to remind myself that when she gets a little whiny- why wouldn’t you be whining if you had 6 teeth breaking through your gums at the same time!!! So far two have completely popped through, and her bottom two molars are breaking through. The top molars are just very swollen at the moment. Katie has also turned into a little monkey these days. She’s completely fearless, and she goes to climb up and over anything. She even scaled the brick wall in our front yard trying to sit next to Paul! She currently likes very few choices of food, and I’m beginning to think the Tom/Papa has cursed us with incredibly picky eaters! Lilly and Katie still play so well together. Lilly tries to be so helpful when it comes to anything involving Katie including combing her hair. For those of you who haven’t seen Katie recently, she still have very little hair. The hair she does have stands straight up! I found Lilly and Katie together, and Katie had wet hair. Lilly informed me that she brushed her hair. My reply was- what water did they use? Then Lilly announced the toilet water! They quickly got a bath after that! Not all of Lilly’s helpful moments are helpful, but you can’t fault the girl for trying! Katie also has a shoe fascination. She loves to wear the dress up shoes around the house! She even takes Lilly’s shoes so she can wear them. Lilly got a new pair of shoes that light up, and I think those have to be Katie’s favorite. If she would just look up when she walks in them we would have less stumbles! We’re very excited for Halloween to come this year! Check in with us soon for those wonderful pictures!
