Things are getting back to normal. Covid is still around, but it’s not a major talking point anymore. The most popular song on the radio is “Cruel Summer” by Taylor Swift and the most popular movie is Barbie, yep, Barbie, the plastic toy that I thought got cancelled by moms everywhere. Anywho, the big change this year is Lilly is driving. Laura keeps busy tracking her like a felon on house arrest using Life360 and Katie gets to avoid riding the bus, so win-win.
Lilly is 16 and going into 11th grade at Lambert High School. She’s given up the pursuit of sports for the noble hobby of staring at her phone and poking it for hours on end.
Katie is 14 and going into 9th grade at Lambert High School. New freshman on campus! She has officially passed Lilly in height and won’t let her forget it. She’s still playing volleyball and still pestering her sister.
I know it’s cliché, but it’s moments like this where you realize they grow up so fast. Lilly will be off to clown college in two years and Katie will be on the road behind the wheel in 9 months.
