It’s been an idea of ours for a while now to put a projector in the backyard and watch movies on a big screen much like a drive-in theater minus the overpriced refreshments. As they don’t just give away projectors at the store we put this idea on hold for a while, but yesterday nana and pappa generously gave us a projector to use just for this. I/we were so excited about it we rigged up a screen made from leftover sheet-rock and composite decking in the basement and watched “The Princess and the Frog” last night under the stars in the backyard. I thought we would watch a Lilly movie first then a daddy movie. Well, we were able to start the movie at 8:15pm; papa was almost asleep by 8:30, but by the time the movie ended we were all too tired to watch another one, myself included. I hope we can turn this into a weekly event, time and weather permitting. I think we’ll be watching “Avatar” next Saturday night. Feel free to come over if you want, just bring your own seating and refreshments.
We have since bought an inflatable screen and watched Avatar, Ironman, and The Chipmunks Squeakquel. I am pretty happy with how the setup has worked out and hope we can keep it up.
