Katie’s 1 year old check-up!

Katie finally got to visit the doctor, and she’s a healthy little girl! She’s weighing in at 21 lbs and 8 oz. She’s almost 31 inches tall! She passed her vision test with no problems too! I was amazed that she sat still so long. Lilly called her a robot with the electrodes that were attached to her head. We also found out that our little lady is about to have her incisors break through! More teeth!!! She’ll be missing her top front two teeth for a little while according to the doctor, but she says that she can clearly see them waiting to come in. She just can’t tell us how long it will take for them to break through her gums. Katie is also taking a couple steps here and there at a time, but nothing to the extreme that would label her walking. We’re just waiting for her to build up the confidence to just give it a try! She’s a climber too. I’ve found her on top of the coffee table one morning because she had pushed her sister’s little red chair over to it so she could have a better view of the morning news. Now she takes every opportunity to climb in chairs, and then she just stands up once she’s managed to get in one. Our hearts just about stop because we know that she is going to break her head one day. She can climb the stairs with ease now. One funny thing that Katie is just goofy for is popsicles. I thought it would be a good idea to share mine since it felt nearly a hundred degrees outside, and Katie didn’t let me have any more of my own popsicle. I guess it was a refreshing for her as I thought it should be for myself. We’ve now decided to stock up on these since they’re such a hit for everybody! Katie is still as vocal as ever about Lilly. They got some my little ponies the other day, and Lilly wasn’t sharing the way Katie wanted. She yelled at Lilly to get what she wanted, and Lilly surrendered for fear I would think she’s mistreating her sister again. It was amusing to see Katie work her magic on her older sister! They really do play well together regardless of what I just wrote, and I think they like playing with their doll houses the most. Katie is also a little fish in the pool. She loves to just sit in her float and lounge.- sometimes splashing innocent pool goers.  We go swimming with some friends, and their son also lounges with Katie and splashes too. It’s very cute! More to come – I’m sure we’ll have a walking video soon!!!
