It’s hard to believe how fast time has gone by with Katie. It seemed like it took forever for Lilly during the first six months, and with Katie I’m afraid to blink because it’s going by so fast! She has been a wonderful baby. She’s still pretty quiet and content with life. Lilly wanted a lot more attention than Katie at this stage. I have a feeling that Katie is going to be quite the independent little lady! We had the dreaded doctor’s appointment today. It really does break my heart when they give her shots, but she seemed to get over them quickly! Katie weighs a healthy 12 lbs and 13 oz, and she’s measuring in at 24 inches! She’s like her sister in height coming in over the 92nd percentile! Her weight is a new thing for us because she’s a better eater than Lilly ever was! She’s in the 88th percentile for weight. The doctor said that she was very proportioned! She has long slender feet like her dad. It’s no big surprise to me that the girls will more than likely tower over me probably by 5th grade. Katie also is holding her head up completely on her own which is a little advanced for her age. Normally they can hold it up assisted, and then by 4 months hold it up steady. She also rolled over for the first time last night. I had her lying on the floor while I changed the sheets, and I looked over to see her on her tummy when I clearly left her on her back a few moments before! The doctor told me that if she continues to progress like this we can expect an early walker like her dad! Katie also gets better and better everyday with her expressions. She’s been smiling a whole lot more these days, and it’s nice when she coos at us too. Lilly has really been wonderful with Katie. She’s still a little rough which will probably never change. She’s very good at checking on her too. Today when Katie had to get her shots, Lilly tried to get to her to comfort her while they gave her the shots. I had both of the girls on the table, and Lilly tried to help the nurse when she was giving the shots. Lilly is our little helper! I like to look back at picture of Lilly at the same age, and the only difference is Katie has chunkier cheeks and legs! They both look like they might have blonde to very light brown hair along with those gorgeous blue eyes. I’m sure there will be more pictures to come shortly so you guys can compare yourselves!

LILLY AND KATIE DO LOOK ALOT ALIKE AND OF COURSE ARE BEAUTIFUL!!! I AM SO GLAD THAT LILLY HAS EXCEPTED KATIE AND IS SUCH A BIG HELP. I THINK FROM WHAT I KNOW ABOUT HER MOM AND DAD THAT SHE WILL GROW UP TO BE A VERY LOVING AND CARING PERSON AND WILL PROBABLY LOOK OUT FOR KATIE. ALL THE PICTURES ARE GREAT AND ALL OF YOU SEEM SO HAPPY AND I SURE HOPE THINGS ALWAYS GO GOOD FOR YALL. IS LILLY BOXING HERSELF UP TO BE MAILED SOMEWHERE? YALL ARE SO LUCKY TO HAVE THEM AND I HOPE YOU ALL STAY WELL AND AS HAPPY AS YOU APPEAR TO BE.
I LOVE YOU ALL!!
It’s amazing just how much life has changed in the last three years – two beautiful grandchildren, a great wife for my wonderful son, and a seemingly healthy husband. Can’t get much better. Oh, except more pictures!!
I knew you were going to say something about the pictures! I actually have some to post, and they are slowly making their way there. I was actually working on updates for everyone, and I’m running slightly behind due to the school load this week. I hope to have pictures and post up by the end of this week!
