It’s been another interesting year. COVID is still around, but an afterthought for most people. Inflation is around 9% on the year and the economy is in a strange place with most people trying to avoid calling it a recession. The most popular song on the radio is “Running up that Hill” by Kate Bush and the most popular movie is Top Gun: Maverick. Let me remind you, it’s 2022, not 1985. I’m just waiting for MC Hammer to be cool again so I can break out the Hammer pants.
Lilly is 15 going into 10th grade at Lambert High School. She’s still playing volleyball, but the most notable development is she got her drivers permit over the summer. She has a few hours under her belt driving around the neighborhood, church, and high school. In the last week or two, she has even drove us home from our destination.
Katie is 13 headed into 8th grade at South Forsyth Middle School. Last year of middle school and if she plays her cards right it could be the last year of riding the bus. She did give up soccer, but started volleyball and seems to enjoy it, but her real passions seem to be Youtube and pestering her sister. Looking back at the first day of school picture from last year, it’s obvious Katie grew like a weed and is just about as tall as her sister now.
