Disney Cruise

We had such a good time on our first Disney cruise we decided to go on another.  This time we went on a 7 night cruise to the Eastern Caribbean and visited Tortola, St. Thomas and Cast Away Cay.  Upon arriving at Tortola, I have to admit, I was a little concerned.  The island is significantly less developed than anywhere I have been before and I didn’t know what to expect.  Thankfully, Laura planned ahead and signed us up to swim with the dolphins.  We were all a little nervous about the experience, but I can’t say enough how fun it was and would recommend it to everyone, but bring your own camera; the price of the pictures are outrageous.  When we got back from the excursion we toured the half dozen shops on the port and made our way to some hole in the wall restaurant a local on the street recommended.  This place gave holes a bad name.  The girls had a hamburger and Laura and I had a fish plate.  I know there was potatoes and fish, but honest to god, I couldn’t tell them apart.

Our next port was St. Thomas where Laura had another excursion planned; snorkeling with the turtles.  We rode a pirate ship from the cruise ship to a little island a few miles away where we were given vests, masks, snorkels, and fins.  The only thing missing was courage for the girls.  You had to jump off the deck or climb down a ladder into the water.  After a lot of motivational talk and minor threats, the girls made it in the water and we snorkeled.

Our final port was Disney’s own island, Castaway Cay.  I was just as impressed with Castaway Cay this time as the last.  No excursions, just playing in the water and laying on the beach under a palm tree.

We had a great time and hope to do it again soon.
