Lilly is 6!

Our little kindergartener is 6! She’s such a sweet girl. She has lost a total of 9 teeth, and if there was some special dance to get her teeth to come back in- we would be doing it on an hourly basis. I have no idea how this kid eats with all those teeth missing! She’s 48″ tall, and she weighs 49 pounds. It’s starting to look like a race to see how quickly she will catch up to me. She doesn’t have that much further to go! This kid is such a delight to claim her as ours. Her teacher at school has called her a neutral kid, and she can put her with anyone with no problems. I have learned this is a rare thing in kindergarten since they are all learning to get along with each other without the constant eyes of mom and dad. Lilly is catching on to the reading thing. Some of her little stories she comes home with are too cute! I’ve never really thought about how hard it is to learn to spell things, and she spells things just like she thinks they sound. For example, possum to her is spelled “pocum”. They were learning about “C” making a couple of different sounds, and this is one of the stories she came home with about “pocums” being monsters. I totally agree with her! Lilly is still very much attached to her grandparents, and spoiled rotten doesn’t even begin to describe them! I wouldn’t want it any other way. We are very thankful that Paul’s parents treat our kiddos so well. It just makes it hard for us when we try to tell them to do something, and their response back is that Nana or Papa doesn’t make them do it- like clean their room! This summer is going to be fun for Lilly because she is wanting to take swim lessons. It will be wonderful if we can get the kids up and swimming this summer. Lilly had a slumber party for her birthday this year. We only had a couple girls come over, and they appeared to have fun. Katie enjoys following her sister around with the rest of the big girls. It would be nice if they could continue to get along this well when they are teenagers. Paul and I are so proud of our sweet girl, and it is wonderful to watch her blossom into such a sweet young lady.
