Katies 3rd birthday

Katie is a sassy little 3 year old! She’s 31 lbs and 38 inches tall. She’s a little leaner than Lilly (which is hard to believe) and just a little smaller than Lilly in height. Katie usually goes through growth spurts just a little after birthdays, so it will be interesting to see how much she’s grown with the next check-up. Unfortunately with this visit came the news that her speech is delayed, and we are doing everything we can to get her some help with that. Our local schools offer great speech therapy, and she’ll be tested soon to see what they can do to help her. Better to catch it now so when Kindergarten starts, we can hopefully be caught up with her peers! Katie had a pool party with her friends, and she kept asking for a princess cake. She actually got 2 cakes because we had a week delay between party and actual birthday, but I don’t think she really minded it! She is sassy like I mentioned before, and she fully believes in her way or the highway! She’s a great little lady, and she really keeps you on your toes! She’s still the enforcer with the dogs, and she’s happy to tattle on anything she thinks isn’t right. Most of it has to do with someone else messing her room up. She’s gone so far to say that Papa messed her room up when he hadn’t been to visit in a couple weeks. Somehow Karma is seeking out Papa now for all the times he blamed his perfect son for whatever mess was in the garage or tool was missing! Katie is still Lilly’s little shadow or parrot. They do everything together! Katie is a little more adventurous when it comes to pool time, and I’ve got her learning how to blow bubbles in the water in hopes that she will start to learn how to swim ( Lilly still refuses to swim!). She’s a daddy’s/ papa’s girl, and you can ask her on any given moment who she wants to go to between them or me, and she’ll always chose one of them! I’ve become chopped liver! Katie is counting well to at least 3 ( she hears it a lot with warnings), and she even recognizes letters when we watch Super Why or Word World. I think once we unlock the speech thing, we are going to be really busy between the two girls!
