This year Laura decided to have a non traditional Christmas eve dinner consisting of several appetizers and finger foods in lieu of the typical ham and sides. It actually worked out pretty well. Lilly and Katie were allowed to open one present apiece before going to bed. In hind sight, maybe we should have let them keep going and they MIGHT have been finished opening all of their presents when we woke up the next morning. Santa was VERY generous this year. He brought the girls too many toys to list but most notably one of those big battery powered jeeps they can ride around the yard and they were able to get a few rides in before the snow started coming down mid Christmas day and stuck around for two or three days. Apparently, this was Georgia’s first white Christmas since 1882 according to the local news stations, so it was quite the novelty for all of us. Santa also brought Katie a flat screen TV for her bedroom in hopes that she might actually stay in there at night instead of the 50 trips to everyone else. I think she thinks we’re having a party without her, and she has to check in on us in case she’s missing the fun! Christmas really was fun this year, and it seemed to just go by so quickly. It could have been that all of had our own new things to keep us busy or the snow outside made us all sleepy- either way, it was a great Christmas. Next year should be a little more fun especially for Katie since she’s just getting the hang of unwrapping presents. Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!
